    ALL ABOUT THERAPY

    Learn About My Therapies

Life can feel overwhelming, and sometimes even exhausting. If you're struggling with your emotional wellbeing, I'm here to help.

I work with adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including trauma, PTSD and complex PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and attachment and relationship difficulties. I also support individuals with neurodivergent identities where these are impacting their emotional wellbeing.

Many of the people I work with feel stuck and are looking for change. Together, we can explore what may be contributing to how you feel — whether that means understanding past experiences, making sense of difficult relationships, or focusing on challenges in the here and now. My aim is to help you develop new ways of coping, process emotional difficulties, and build a stronger, more compassionate sense of self.

I offer in-person therapy in Newcastle upon Tyne, on the border between Gosforth and Kenton, and I work with adults aged 18 and over.

    COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

An evidence based treatment for a variety of common mental health problems, including depression, excessive worry (Generalised Anxiety Disorder), social anxiety, phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and panic attacks.

It examines the interactions between our thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and vicious cycles we can find ourselves in. Once we have understood these, then we can make changes to overcome these problems.

    TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS

Transactional Analysis (or TA for short) is a form of psychotherapy for personal growth and examines interactions in relationships.

In TA we explore early childhood experiences and messages that we carry through to adulthood, which may not be helpful any more.

    Gear System

    EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITISATION & REPROCESSING

An evidence based treatment for people who have suffered a traumatic experience or suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma.

With an ever increasing evidence-base, EMDR can also help with other issues such as phobias, low self esteem and other experiences from people's past which are impacting them in the present.

    WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THERAPY

    The Therapy Environment

I aim to create a relaxed, supportive space where you feel as comfortable as possible. I know that starting therapy can feel daunting, so building a trusting, collaborative relationship is central to how I work. I welcome feedback at any stage to ensure therapy remains relevant and tailored to you.

    What to Expect

I offer both short- and long-term therapy depending on your needs. Some people prefer focused, shorter-term work around a specific difficulty; others benefit from longer-term exploration of deeper patterns and experiences. Sessions are guided by your pace, with the aim of building insight, developing coping strategies, and making meaningful, lasting change.

    Your First Session

In our first session, we'll explore what has brought you to therapy and what you're hoping to change — not just what feels difficult right now, but what you'd like life to look and feel like instead. You'll have the chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.

There is no pressure to talk about anything before you're ready. By the end of the session, we can reflect together on whether you'd like to continue — the decision is always yours.
