CLINICAL SUPERVISION

If you're a practising or trainee counsellor or therapist looking for regular, professional supervision, I can offer a supportive and experienced space to reflect on your work.

I hold a Masters Level Clinical Supervisor qualification from Teesside University, which I completed in 2013.

I have worked in both NHS services and private practice since 2007. Over that time, I have developed a strong interest in supervision and offer a supportive, structured and collaborative approach.

My supervision style is more didactic than purely Socratic. I offer guidance, reflection and shared thinking, working alongside supervisees to build clarity, confidence and practical plans for client work.

​

I also value the restorative function of supervision. I aim to create a safe, reflective and containing space where open, honest feedback supports professional growth, ethical practice and effective client work.

The supervisory relationship is central to how I work. I aim to create an informal, collaborative environment where supervisees feel comfortable bringing all aspects of their work. There are no “daft” questions — curiosity, reflection and discussion are always welcome.

Your first supervision session focuses on getting to know you, your practice and what you need from supervision. We will explore your professional background, current client work, preferred learning style and any areas where you would like support. We will also agree the practical framework for our work together, including frequency of sessions, confidentiality and record-keeping. There is space to bring immediate clinical concerns if needed. My aim is for you to leave the first session with a clear sense of how supervision will work and confidence that it will be a supportive and useful space for your ongoing development.
